Emmen and Taizé have a long history. In 1992 they went for the first time from Emmen to Taizé. Then with a small group and with a few vans and people cars. In 1993 the interest was already so great that one could travel to France by bus. This has been developed into an annual Taizé trip that took place around Easter for 23 years.

 

In 2015 there was a bus from Emmen to France with the Easter. But in 2016 it did not happen anymore. The people of the organization went to study elsewhere in the Netherlands or got jobs there. And as a result, there were too few people available in Emmen to organize a trip.

 

In 2023, as we did in 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022, we want to make it possible to travel from Emmen to Taizé again. At least, organized trips. Anyone can, of course, also travel to France on their own to stay there for a few days or a week, but many people find it more fun, enjoyable and comfortable to travel with a number of others.

 

On this website you can find a lot of information about the trips. Collected and arranged by the Taizé Emmen Working Group. In principle, this working group is involved in the trips to France, but via this site they also want to inform everyone about Taizé, news and certainly also about the celebrations and prayers that are organized both in Emmen and elsewhere in the Netherlands. A number of members of the working group are also involved in the organization of celebrations in Emmen Zuid.
